Vastness, serenity and brown mountains with crystal clear waters and snow…yes that’s exactly what LADAKH stands for, a photographer’s delight and a nature lover’s dream come true, where the monasteries call for spiritualism and the vast valleys and mountains hail serenity and bliss. The LADAKH TOUR comprising of 6 NIGHTS/ 7 DAYS is open from 15th APRIL 2017 till 15th OCTOBER 2017 and would take you to the most exquisite places which have been only seen in postcards and now the internet like LEH, SHAM VALLEY, NUBRA VALLEY, SPITUNK MONASTERY, KHARDUNGLS PASS, BASGO, PANGONG LAKE and much more. So, pack your bags and enjoy the most exotic journey of your lifetime, the stories and memories you would tell to your grand and great grandchildren.
Board an early morning flight to LEH. On arrival at the Leh Airport, our representative would receive you and transfer you to your booked hotel. Relax after taking lunch. Since Leh is situated at a height of 11000 ft above sea level, it is recommended to get acclimatized to the weather and hence the first day is for complete rest and getting used to the place. In the evening, you can take a small stroll in the LEH MARKET and visit the SHANTI STUPA, a Buddhist white domed Stupa on a hilltop. Apart from having a religious significance, this place is a tourist attraction because it offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Do not indulge in any strenuous activity on Day 1. Lunch, Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 2 starts with a quick breakfast after which you would proceed towards LEH HALL OF FAME, a museum maintained by the INDIAN ARMY and dedicated in the memory of the soliders who lost their lives in Indi Pak wars, the last being the Kargil War, so go there and feel patriotic. The next destination which you would see is the KALI MATA TEMPLE and the famous PATHAR SAHIB GURUDWARA which was built in the memory of GURU NANAK DEV at a height of 12000ft above sea level. Drive further for 4 kms and you would reach the MAGNETIC HILL, a small stretch of road where cars defy gravity as this mysterious road attracts metallic objects, making your car go on your own at a speed of 20 kms/hr. Procced further in your drive and you reach the beautiful and serene point where the ZANSKAR RIVER and INDUS RIVER meet creating a picture postcard photograph. Enjoy the cool breeze as you drive along the Indus River before you reach the NIMMU VILLAGE along with a visit to BASGO which is one of the most impressive Ladakhi citadels despite being ruined.
After soaking in the history, return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After an early breakfast, Day 3 starts with a drive from LEH to PANGONG LAKE which is 155 kms away from LEH and takes around 6 hrs. to reach. The PANGONG LAKE is the highest land locked lake situated at the height of 14000 ft (4267m) above sea level. Enroute you would visit the SHEY PALACE which was the ancient capital of LADAKH and an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hillock above the village. Drive further towards PANGONG through CHANGLA PASS situated at the height of 5486 m. Once you reach the lake, you would be amazed to see the long narrow basin of inland drainage 130 kms long with the widest point being around 6-7 kms which bisects the India – china border. You would be mesmerized to feel so close to such a pure and serene environment. Click photographs of the landscape in the backdrop of the lake. Evening at leisure and overnight stay at Pangong camp or Camp Watermark on the shore of the lake.
Day 4 starts with leisure morning breakfast after which you can explore the beauty of the lake and capture them in our camera. Later drive back to LEH Enroute visiting the HEMIS GOMPA, the largest monastic foundation of the Drukpa Kagyu order of Tibetan Buddhism. Soak the spiritualism and continue drive to LEH. Overnight stay at hotel in LEH.
Have a quick and early breakfast on Day 5 and start towards NUBRA VALLEY through the KHARDUNGLA PASS which is the WORLD’S HIGHEST MOTARABLE ROAD at 18832 feet above sea level would take around 4-5 hours. During your drive, you would pass through snowcapped peaks and the mesmerizing Himalayan mountain views. Drive a little more and you would pass through a beautiful Valley which is known as the NUBRA VALLEY. The Nubra Valley is an extremely picturesque and is often called the Oasis of Ladakh or LDORMA or the valley of Flowers. It’s a photographer’s delight as one can photograph some of the most colorful trees of the region which are found here. After clicking to your heart’s delight, you would reach SUMUR or HUNDER by afternoon and the rest of the afternoon is for leisure to explore the beautiful villages. Later you would visit the DISKIT MONASTERY which is the largest and oldest Buddhist Monastery. Overnight stay at the Camp.
Day 6 starts with a good breakfast and a visit to the SAND DUNES where you can enjoy a good Camel Safari (optional). Later we drive to Leh by same route over Khardung La. Afternoon rest and relax or take a walk to the local market. Overnight at hotel in LEH.
Day 7 is when the official LADAKH TOUR ends. In the morning, you would be transferred to the airport where you would board the flight for your onward destination.
